Comptroller Abubakar Is New Customs Katsina Comptroller

Comptroller Muhammed Umar Abubakar has been appointed and deployed to Katsina area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service as Comptroller.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Katsina Command, Superintendent of Customs, Tahir Balarabe, said the new Comptroller Umar Abubakar resumed office on September 13, 2023 and took over as the Customs Area Controller from his predecessor Comptroller M.N. Musa.
He said Comptroller Abubakar is a native of Bauchi State. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaira.
According to the PRO, Comptroller Mohammed Umar Abubakar was enlisted into the service as an Assistant Superintendent of Customs in 1989.
PRO, Tahir Balarabe said Comptroller Mohammed Umar attended several courses both within and outside the country and also a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria.
The Comptroller, he explained, is a “seasoned officer with vast experience in various Customs formations, units, and departments, his posting has re-candled the light of hope that the Command will improve on its core mandate of revenue generation, trade facilitation, and smuggling suppression.”
Similarly, Tahir Balarabe said before his promotion to the rank of Comptroller, Umar Abubakar was once an acting Comptroller Special Duties at the Headquarters Abuja and also served as substantive comptroller of Plateau/Nassarawa/Benue, Kano/Jigawa, until his present posting. adding that, he was Comptroller Administration at the Zonal Headquarters, Zone B Kaduna.
“The CAC thanked the Ag. CGC and his management team for the privilege to serve the nation as comptroller of Katsina Area Command, promising to uphold the highest standard of professionalism and work ethics,” the PRO emphasized.
Accordingly, Comptroller Mohammed Umar Abubakar charged officers and men of the Katsina Command to be disciplined and professional while discharging their duties.
